NEW JERSEY RUN FOR THE FALLEN 2022
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, ARRIVES AT CHESTNUT NECK MEMORIAL 10:05 A.M.
Please arrive by 9:30 A.M. (bring insect repellant)
Each year the NJ Run for the Fallen is four days by running teams of active-duty military personnel and stops for every Hero Marker from the tip of Cape May up to Holmdel. A Hero Marker is a memorial and photo of all active-duty military lost since Operation Iraqi Freedom. The General Lafayette Chapter, at our Memorial, has hosted Marker 224; the last stop before they cross the Mullica to continue their Run. We sponsor Sgt. Clarence Floyd Hero Marker #224 for years; he has no living relatives in NJ. We are honored to do so. We invite the public of Port Republic, and teachers who may consider this as a class event. And especially our DAR members who may be available at that time. The presentation is very brief finalized by a salute of the team before they head to their next which is in Ocean County.
It is usual for the Advance team to have the road blocked off by 9:30 to provide safety for the Runners. Visitors may need to park in the rear parking area of the Monument.
